Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has presented the state’s proposed budget for 2025, totaling N390.03 billion, to the Osun State House of Assembly. In a detailed address to lawmakers on Wednesday, Adeleke outlined the financial priorities, with N144.23 billion allocated to capital expenditure and N245.8 billion reserved for recurrent expenses. This budget aims to balance immediate needs with long-term growth, with a focus on enhancing the state’s infrastructure and services for economic development.
The Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, released a statement breaking down the anticipated revenue sources. Osun State expects to receive N196.78 billion from federal allocations (FAAC) and N109.87 billion from internally generated revenue. Additionally, funds from international development partners are projected to contribute N53.38 billion.
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke emphasized that the budget reflects a commitment to capital investments aimed at the socio-economic advancement of Osun State and better public services for its citizens.
