Arsenal will face Manchester United in a highly anticipated FA Cup third-round match next month. The tie, set for the weekend of January 11-12, will see the two most successful clubs in the competition’s history meet at Emirates Stadium. Manchester United, the holders of the FA Cup, claimed their 13th title last season, while Arsenal have won a record 14 titles, with their most recent victory coming in 2020.
In other notable fixtures, Manchester City, who won the competition in 2023, will host Salford, a fourth-tier team owned by the iconic Class of 92, which includes David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes. Liverpool will also play at home, taking on League Two side Accrington Stanley.
Chelsea face Morecambe, the bottom side in the fourth division, while Newcastle take on Bromley, another League Two team. Tottenham will travel to Tamworth, one of only two non-league clubs left in the competition. Meanwhile, Dagenham & Redbridge will face Millwall in another away game.
This year’s third round sees 44 teams from the Premier League and Championship enter the fray, joining 20 lower-league and non-league sides that have advanced from previous rounds.
