Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has publicly appealed to Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy to help secure the release of singer Speed Darlington, who has been in police custody since November 27, 2024. The singer was arrested earlier in October over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking following his controversial statements about Burna Boy.
Despite being granted bail by the Federal High Court on December 23, 2024, Speed Darlington remains in detention, sparking public concern about his prolonged incarceration.
In an Instagram story, Bobrisky voiced his worry about the harsh realities of prison life and suggested that Speed Darlington might not be able to afford the costs of securing a place in the VIP section of the facility. Bobrisky, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and outspoken nature, softened his stance in his plea:
“I just wanna mind my business this year and stay away from anything that connects with Nigerian celebrities. But my soft heart won’t stop me thinking of many things. Please Burna Boy, forgive Speed. Please, prison is not a nice place. I don’t think he has money for VIP section cos it’s expensive. Pls.”
The appeal highlights both the severity of the situation and the challenges faced by Speed Darlington as he remains in detention. Many are now urging Burna Boy to consider reconciliation and forgiveness in the interest of resolving the matter amicably.
This plea adds to growing calls for compassion and fairness in addressing legal disputes involving public figures, as fans and followers await further developments in the case.
