Pep Guardiola is expected to move out of his £8.5million mansion in Barcelona following his shock separation from his wife, Cristina Serra, after 30 years together. The couple, who have three grown-up children, reportedly decided to go their separate ways, a decision that has raised questions about Guardiola’s future living arrangements in the Catalan capital.
The mansion, located in one of Barcelona’s most exclusive neighborhoods, was purchased by Guardiola in February 2021 for €10 million (£8.4 million) from a Russian businessman. The four-storey property, featuring a large swimming pool and set on a 22,000 square foot plot, has served as the family home whenever Guardiola returned to Barcelona from his managerial duties at Manchester City.
It is understood that Cristina will remain in the family home, while Guardiola is expected to find a new base when he is in Barcelona. In contrast, his primary residence when not in Spain is at the Deansgate CitySuites in central Manchester, where he occupies two floors of privately-owned apartments.
The split has caught the attention of Spanish media, with outlets highlighting the mansion’s secluded location as an ideal place for privacy during the separation. Despite the change in their personal lives, the couple reportedly spent Christmas together at the mansion with their three children, Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and 17-year-old Valentina.
The property, which was seen as a potential sign of Guardiola’s future plans in Barcelona, remains a significant part of his recent years, both personally and professionally.
