Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has taken a decisive step by dissolving the State Executive Council. This bold move affects top government officials, including commissioners, special advisers, and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). However, two officials were spared from this sweeping decision due to the critical nature of their responsibilities.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, and the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, will remain in their positions. This exemption highlights the significance of their roles in maintaining the state’s legal and financial stability during this transitional period.
A statement issued by Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, confirmed the development. Adeniyan disclosed that all affected cabinet members have been directed to hand over government property to the accounting officers of their respective ministries immediately.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the outgoing officials for their dedication and contributions to the growth of Ondo State during their time in office. He also extended his best wishes to them in their future endeavors, signaling the end of their tenure under his administration.
