DJ Big N, the well-known disc jockey, shared a harrowing account of surviving a robbery while in South Africa. On his Instagram, he recounted how a night out turned into a terrifying ordeal when he was attacked near a traffic light in Johannesburg on January 12th.
Accompanied by an acquaintance, DJ Big N had just left a fancy lounge and was en route to another club when they were ambushed by two cars carrying six armed men wielding automatic rifles. In the ensuing chaos, the robbers shot DJ Big N in the leg as he attempted to flee. One of the robbers then placed a rifle to his head and demanded his jewelry. Despite his injury and heavy bleeding, the DJ managed to get back to the car, and the driver rushed him to the nearest hospital.
At the hospital, doctors confirmed that the bullet had passed through his leg, narrowly missing vital arteries and bones. They described his survival as miraculous, and DJ Big N attributed his recovery to divine intervention and his mother’s prayers.
In a moment of deep reflection, the DJ shared how the traumatic experience changed his perspective on life. Though he lost over $114,000 worth of valuables in the robbery, he came to realize that material possessions hold little meaning compared to the value of life itself.
DJ Big N wrote, “Life is fragile, and validation is meaningless. God gave me another chance, and I’m committed to living more authentically and appreciating life without unnecessary stress.”
Despite the severity of the injury, he was able to stop using crutches just two days later and reported that he was recovering well. The incident has led him to focus on what truly matters, with a renewed commitment to living his truth and embracing the gift of life.
