Victor Osimhen Takes Legal Action Against Turkish Journalist Over Assault Allegations

Super Eagles striker and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has filed a defamation lawsuit against Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman, who accused him of assault following a recent incident outside a venue after Galatasaray’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Dynamo Kyiv two weeks ago.

Osimhen, who has been in phenomenal form this season with 16 goals and five assists in 21 appearances for Galatasaray, now finds himself at the center of controversy off the pitch. Bozduman claimed that Osimhen became aggressive and punched him while he was attempting to take photos of the player. Additionally, there were reports suggesting that Osimhen attempted to offer money to have any footage of the incident deleted, further escalating the situation.

In response to the allegations, Osimhen has strongly denied any wrongdoing, describing the claims as “false and malicious.” A statement issued by the Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe, emphasized Osimhen’s innocence, as he seeks to clear his name and put an end to the growing controversy surrounding the alleged altercation.

As the legal battle progresses, the 26-year-old striker remains focused on his footballing career, continuing to shine for his club and country despite the off-field distractions. The case highlights the ongoing challenges athletes face with public scrutiny and the importance of protecting their reputation in an era of widespread media coverage.
