Bayern Munich secured a dramatic 3-2 aggregate victory over Celtic in the Champions League playoff round, thanks to a last-gasp goal from Alphonso Davies.
Leading 2-1 from the first leg in Glasgow, Bayern saw their advantage erased in the 63rd minute when former Bayern reserve Nicolas Kuhn capitalized on a defensive error from Kim Min-jae to level the tie.
Despite relentless pressure and a barrage of attempts, Bayern struggled to beat Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who made a series of crucial saves. Just when extra time seemed inevitable, Leon Goretzka’s powerful header was parried by Schmeichel, only for the ball to rebound off Davies’ shin and into the net in the dying moments of the game.
The dramatic 1-1 draw on the night was enough to send Bayern through to the last 16, keeping their Champions League hopes alive.
