Nigeria’s controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was rushed to the Police Hospital at Falomo, Lagos, after reporting discomfort and pain in his ‘breasts.’ Sources indicate that Bobrisky experienced this discomfort following hours spent in the police cell at Alagbon, Lagos State.
According to a police source, Bobrisky was taken to the hospital around 2 p.m. on the day of the incident. Reports suggest he complained of severe pain in his ‘breasts,’ prompting the need for medical attention. However, there are claims that the trip to the hospital was a decoy, as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos State had visited the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) at Alagbon with the intention of transferring Bobrisky to his command.
“They were concerned about avoiding public attention, so they sent for a police ambulance with the number plate LLD339LP,” the police source explained. This strategy appears to have been employed to manage the situation discreetly, given Bobrisky’s high-profile status and the media attention surrounding him.
An additional source stated that Bobrisky was in considerable pain, which led authorities to insist on transporting him to the Police Hospital in Falomo before proceeding with the transfer to the SFU. The timing of this medical intervention coincided with the CP of SFU’s visit to oversee the transfer of Bobrisky.
Prior to his transfer, Bobrisky was reportedly isolated from other inmates. He was kept in a separate location with two armed officers assigned to guard his cell after thorough profiling. These officers remained with him until he was taken out and placed in the ambulance for transport to the hospital.
When approached by reporters inside the ambulance, Bobrisky identified himself by his male name, Idris, raising eyebrows about his self-identification amid his well-known persona as a crossdresser. Accompanying him in the ambulance was a female nurse, alongside a fully armed police officer, emphasizing the heightened security measures in place during his transportation. Bobrisky was placed on a stretcher inside the ambulance, underscoring the seriousness with which the police handled the situation.
Bobrisky’s arrest by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has attracted significant media attention, especially given his prominence in the Nigerian entertainment and social media landscape. He had spent Monday night at the FCID, Alagbon, before this recent health scare.
