Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has explained the reasons behind his recent exit from Nigeria after facing repeated travel setbacks. Bobrisky revealed his frustration in a post on Instagram, sharing that his departure was partly due to his dissatisfaction with local security agencies.
The challenges began when he was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday. In his Instagram post on Monday, Bobrisky confirmed he had left Nigeria “temporarily” to focus on his well-being. “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily. I need to attend to my sanity and my health,” he stated.
Bobrisky also addressed financial losses related to his disrupted travel. He claimed he had purchased three business-class tickets, costing N9.8 million each, but only one trip was ultimately successful. He called on KLM to refund him for the two unused tickets, clarifying that, while he didn’t blame the airline, he hoped for a reimbursement. “Imagine buying a business class ticket three times; only one was successful. KLM, I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. Each business class cost me 9.800,000.”
In response to potential critics, Bobrisky commented on his Instagram post, urging those with negative opinions to consider the financial demands of his travels. “Before you come to my page to type nonsense, check your account balance if you can afford three business seats,” he said. He concluded by stating he was no longer in Nigeria, signaling that critical comments would not impact him.
Bobrisky’s journey out of Nigeria follows a period of legal and public challenges, including his recent encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and prior detainment in Nigeria.
