Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced plans to release his fifth studio album in early 2025. In a recent interview on The Baller Alert Show, the “Feel” crooner hinted at a project rich in African influences but kept the details under wraps, withholding the album’s title, tracklist, and featured artists.
Exciting New Collaboration on the Horizon
Before the album’s release, Davido is gearing up to drop a collaborative single titled “Funds” with fast-rising Nigerian stars Chike and Odumodublvck. He praised Odumodublvck as the “biggest Nigerian rapper” and likened Chike’s style to that of American R&B singer Bryson Tiller, highlighting his appeal, especially among female fans.
“We have another [song] coming in a couple of days. It’s called ‘Funds.’ I featured the current biggest Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, and the Nigerian Bryson Tiller. Girls love him; his name is Chike,” Davido revealed during the interview.
Staying Rooted in Nigeria
Despite his global success and opportunities to relocate, Davido reaffirmed his commitment to staying in Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of remaining connected to his roots, especially at a time when the global spotlight is on Afrobeats.
“I have to stay tapped in because why run away from home when others are running there now,” he stated, underscoring his pride in the growing international appeal of Nigerian music.
