As the November 16th governorship election in Ondo State approaches, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, confidently declared the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) “dead” in the state. During his campaign tour of Igbobini, Kiribo, Igbotu, and other communities in the Ese-Odo council area, Aiyedatiwa urged voters to throw their full support behind the APC, stressing the importance of unity and loyalty.
Addressing large crowds of supporters, the governor thanked the people for their patience and support, promising to continue delivering on his development agenda if re-elected. Aiyedatiwa touted his administration’s achievements in improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security, and reassured the electorate that more progress would follow under his leadership. He encouraged residents to use their votes to eliminate any competition from other political parties, particularly the PDP, which he claimed no longer exists in the state.
“We have initiated many projects, and we will do more. Our roads, schools, and hospitals are receiving attention. We have also ensured the state’s security,” Aiyedatiwa said. He reminded the people that his administration has been hiring more teachers and improving educational standards. “On November 16, you must troop out en masse and vote for our party, the APC.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the importance of loyalty to the APC, noting that many former PDP stalwarts have defected to the ruling party. “We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds,” he declared, referring to the PDP’s symbol. He emphasized that voting for the APC was essential to secure a brighter future for Ondo State, urging the electorate to reject parties that “have no clear plan” for the state.
During his tour, Aiyedatiwa also received warm receptions from traditional rulers in the Ese-Odo council area, who offered their blessings and expressed gratitude for his dedication to development. The Anananawe of Bolowou, Pere Judge Ugulapelewei Jemine, praised the governor for keeping his promises to the people, saying, “We are not surprised by the infrastructural progress we see today because we saw it coming. Your administration has always shown a clear commitment to the people, and we are pleased to see those promises materialize.”
Jemine further commended the governor for appointing sons and daughters from the local communities into political offices, a move he said bolstered the people’s trust in Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also visited Rt. Rev. Princewill Epistle Jemine (JP), General Overseer of Zion Mission, to acknowledge his role in promoting peace and spiritual guidance in the community. In a show of solidarity, prominent local leader High Chief Bibopere Ajube urged residents to rally behind Aiyedatiwa, stressing the importance of continued support for the governor’s re-election bid.
The campaign tour reached a peak in Arogbo Kingdom, where Governor Aiyedatiwa received blessings from His Imperial Majesty, Pere Z.D. Egbunu Esq (JP), the Agadagba of Arogbo Kingdom. The governor was welcomed with enthusiasm as defectors from other political parties pledged their allegiance to the APC, signaling growing support for his candidacy.
As the election date nears, Governor Aiyedatiwa remains focused on securing another term, using the campaign trail to remind voters of his administration’s accomplishments while urging them to ensure the continuation of progress by voting for the APC. His message was clear: Ondo State’s future depends on keeping the APC in power, and voting for other parties could jeopardize the state’s development.
Aiyedatiwa concluded his tour by urging his supporters to intensify their grassroots campaign efforts, ensuring a strong turnout at the polls on November 16th. “Your vote is your power,” he said. “Don’t waste it on parties that have no clear vision for Ondo State.”
