Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has congratulated Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on her reappointment as the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). In a statement issued over the weekend, Mbah expressed that Okonjo-Iweala’s reappointment was not surprising due to her outstanding leadership during her first term at the helm of the global trade body.
On behalf of the government and people of Enugu State, Mbah praised Okonjo-Iweala’s exceptional leadership, highlighting her vast experience, deep knowledge, and international reputation, all of which have contributed significantly to repositioning the WTO and advancing its objectives.
The governor further acknowledged Okonjo-Iweala as one of Nigeria’s greatest exports to the world, emphasizing the positive impact of her leadership on global trade. He urged her to continue excelling in her second term, which is set to begin in September 2025, and to continue making Nigeria proud on the global stage.
