The second edition of InnovateAI Lagos, a premier annual artificial intelligence (AI) conference, is set to take place on February 21, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos. With the theme “Scaling AI Adoption in Nigeria: Catalysing Cross-Sectoral Innovation and Fostering Inclusive Growth,” this event will focus on harnessing the power of AI to drive Nigeria’s economic development and global AI leadership.
Building on the success of the inaugural 2024 edition, which brought together over 4,000 attendees, InnovateAI Lagos 2025 aims to attract over 6,000 participants, both in-person and virtually. The conference will be streamed live to 12 AI-in-Nigeria Community Hubs across the country’s six geopolitical zones, ensuring wide-reaching engagement.
Co-convener Dotun Adeoye emphasized the importance of this year’s conference, noting that it will explore how AI can address critical issues such as unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and financial inclusion, driving growth across Nigeria’s key sectors. The 2024 edition sparked collaborations, inspired innovation, and influenced policy changes that have led to measurable progress. InnovateAI Lagos 2025 will build on these successes to deliver actionable outcomes that can shape Nigeria’s future, positioning the country as a hub for AI development.
Key discussions at the conference will include the role of AI in the future of work, exploring how it’s reshaping workplace skill sets, recruitment trends, and roles across industries. A panel of leading HR directors will delve into how AI is influencing these changes and discuss strategies to bridge the gap between AI skill development and real-world applications. This is part of a broader initiative to connect skilled professionals with employers seeking AI talent, enhancing Nigeria’s global competitiveness.
InnovateAI Lagos 2025 will also focus on the transformative potential of AI to solve Nigeria’s pressing challenges, with sessions on AI-powered solutions in agriculture, healthcare, education, and finance. Key speakers include executives from companies investing in AI infrastructure, such as data centres, as well as representatives from global platforms and Nigerian financial institutions. Experts will explore how AI is revolutionizing financial services, enhancing food security, and ensuring ethical governance within the AI sector.
The conference will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including AI researchers, agricultural innovators, HR experts, policy leaders, and tech pioneers. Their insights will explore how AI can be harnessed to meet Nigeria’s unique challenges, build a competitive AI talent pool, and foster sustainable growth across the country’s economy.
