Kano Pillars Suspend Coach Usman Abdallah Over Poor Performance and Fan Incident

Kano Pillars FC has suspended their Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, for three weeks following the team’s poor performance and his conduct towards fans after their goalless draw against Bayelsa United on Matchday 22 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The decision was announced in a statement signed by the club’s chairman, Ali Umar, on Sunday in Kano. According to Umar, Abdallah’s gesture towards supporters at the Sani Abacha Stadium was deemed inappropriate, leading to his suspension.

Struggles on the Pitch

Kano Pillars have struggled for consistency in recent matches, managing just one win in their last three outings. This dip in form has raised concerns among both the management and supporters, who expect better performances from the team.

In Abdallah’s absence, Chief Coach Ahmed Yaro-Yaro will take charge of the team, supported by assistant coaches Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa.

Kano Pillars Look to Bounce Back

The club emphasized its commitment to professionalism and fostering a respectful relationship with fans. Their immediate focus is now on Matchday 23, where they face Remo Stars in Ikenne, Ogun State, hoping to secure a win and regain supporters’ confidence.

Abdallah, who signed a two-year contract with the club in August 2024, now faces an uncertain future as pressure mounts on his position.
