The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that no lives were lost in a fire outbreak at the MRS filling station located at Batchure Junction, along Numan Road, on Tuesday. The police announced that an investigation has been launched to assess the full extent of the damage and determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
According to the statement shared via the police command’s X handle, the quick response of both firefighters and the police operational unit played a crucial role in bringing the fire under control, preventing further damage.
“The Adamawa State Police Command commenced investigation into the fire incident that affected MRS filling station, Batchure junction, along Numan road tonight. The immediate response from the command’s operational unit and that of firefighters brought the fire under control,” the statement read.
CP Dankombo Morris, the Commissioner of Police, assured residents that the police are committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property. He also encouraged anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward.
This incident follows a similar fire outbreak at a filling station in Dutse, Jigawa State, on January 31, 2025. Recent fuel tanker explosions in Niger and Enugu states have heightened safety concerns regarding fuel storage and distribution across the country.
