Obesere, popularly known as Omorapala, marked his milestone birthday with charitable gestures, including building a mosque for his alma mater and donating educational materials such as books and school bags to students. The Fuji star took to Instagram to share a video of the newly built mosque, expressing his commitment to philanthropy. “To God Be The Glory! Today, we commissioned the newly built mosque at my alma mater and also donated learning materials to the pupils. This will continue and won’t stop for a bit,” he wrote.
His generosity has been widely praised, especially as it coincides with the ongoing backlash against K1 De Ultimate over his remarks regarding Muslim clerics. The controversy erupted after K1, in a viral video, used the phrase “ganu si” while discussing clerics who visited his home following his mother’s burial. The phrase, loosely interpreted as implying that clerics attend social events uninvited for financial gains, offended many within the Muslim community.
During the 8-day Fidau prayer held for K1’s mother, renowned cleric Sheikh Faruq Onikijipa urged the Fuji icon to apologize for his words. However, K1 refused, insisting he had done nothing wrong and that apologizing would mean admitting guilt. This stance has divided public opinion, with some supporting him while others have criticized his perceived disrespect towards religious leaders.
