The School of Media and Communication (SMC) at Pan Atlantic University is set to graduate at least 50 professionals this Friday, who have successfully completed various programmes offered by its Professional Education Department. These include the Media Entrepreneurship Programme (MEP-3), the Executive Programme in Advertising (EXPAD-6), and the MTN Media Innovation Programme (MTN MIP-3).
The department, designed to develop skilled and responsible media professionals, aims to encourage participants to engage with their communities and contribute to a better society. One of the key highlights of the event will be the graduation of the third cohort of the MTN Media Innovation Programme (MIP-3), a fully funded residential fellowship in partnership with telecom giant MTN Nigeria. The programme, which has successfully trained 20 media professionals across print, electronic, and online platforms, will see participants from leading Nigerian media outlets such as Vanguard, Punch, Thisday, and The Nation, alongside notable radio and TV platforms, graduate.
The ceremony, part of the school’s 2024 graduation events, will include a keynote lecture titled “Monetization of Media Resources in Dynamic Times” by Professor Emeka Osuji. His lecture will offer valuable insights into optimising earnings in the ever-changing media landscape, helping the graduands sustain and enhance their professional practices.
After the ceremony, the graduates will also be inducted into the esteemed Pan Atlantic University Alumni Association, marking a significant milestone in their professional journeys.
The graduation ceremony will take place at the Abuja Hall, T.Y. Danjuma Main Academic Complex, located at the university’s main campus in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
