Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has voiced his displeasure at being compared to fellow artist Asake due to their shared penchant for facial tattoos.
Asake recently revealed new facial tattoos featuring dollar signs and the word “Believe” in an Instagram post, sparking a flurry of online reactions. Some fans were quick to draw parallels between his new look and Portable’s distinctive tattooed appearance.
In response, Portable dismissed the comparisons, insisting that his style is inspired by American rapper Lil Wayne rather than Asake.
In a video posted on his social media page, Portable said, “Don’t compare me to Asake. I don’t look like Asake. I look like Lil Wayne. Stop comparing me to an overrated artiste. I’m now an international superstar.”
The remarks have added to the ongoing buzz around both artists, fueling discussions about individuality and inspiration in the Nigerian music industry.
