On January 4, 2025, a terrorist attack on an army base in Sabon Gida, Damboa, Borno, led to the tragic loss of six soldiers. In a statement released by his spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu called for a thorough investigation into the attack to determine the circumstances and prevent future occurrences. He commended the armed forces for their quick and decisive response, particularly the air component, which launched retaliatory air raids that neutralized numerous terrorists and destroyed their assets as they attempted to flee.
