President Bola Tinubu has revamped the media and communications structure of the State House to enhance how the federal government communicates its policies and decisions to Nigerians.
This overhaul involves reassigning responsibilities among top officials in line with the administration’s strategy for effective information dissemination.
Key Changes in the Communications Team
- Sunday Dare: Previously the Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, he will now serve as the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
- Daniel Bwala: Formerly announced as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, he has been reassigned as Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
- Bayo Onanuga: The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy emphasized that there is no sole spokesperson for the Presidency.
Instead, the three advisers will collectively manage the communication of government activities. According to Onanuga, this collaborative model ensures consistent and effective dissemination of information.
Goals of the Restructuring
The restructuring is designed to streamline government communication and make it more transparent and accessible. With these changes, Tinubu’s administration seeks to address public concerns effectively, foster better understanding of government policies, and promote national orientation.
