Tragic Building Collapse in Ibadan Claims 10 Lives, Seven Rescued

In a devastating incident in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, a building collapse has led to the death of at least 10 individuals, with seven others successfully rescued. The collapse occurred in Jegede Olorunsogo, located in the Ona Ara local government area. The Oyo State Fire Services received distress calls from neighbors at around 2 a.m., prompting an immediate emergency response.

Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the casualties, stating, “Oyo State Fire Services Agency received a distressed call at around 2 am this morning at Jegede Olunloyo area, Ibadan, of which 10 persons have been recovered from the debris of the collapsed building, while 7 persons were rescued alive.” He assured the public that rescue operations are ongoing, with efforts focused on finding anyone else who may still be trapped under the rubble.
