The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has showered glowing praises on former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, describing him as a trustworthy ally and an honest man whose words can always be trusted. Wike noted that Fayose is someone who never hides his stance on matters, making him a rare figure in Nigerian politics.
In a statement released in Abuja on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike extended his goodwill to Fayose on his 64th birthday.
Wike hailed Fayose, also fondly called “Osokomole,” as a remarkable individual whose political legacy in Ekiti State remains unforgettable.
“Today, November 15, 2024, I celebrate my friend and brother, former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose, as he marks 64 years of life,” Wike said in his heartfelt message.
He continued, “Reaching this milestone is a testament to God’s grace upon his life and serves as a reminder of his duty to continue contributing to the growth and progress of our great country, Nigeria. At 64, Fayose remains an influential figure in Nigerian politics, with his achievements in Ekiti State standing as lasting evidence of his impact.”
Wike also spoke of Fayose’s unwavering loyalty, calling him a “valuable friend and brother” who is known for his honesty and integrity. “He never pretends about his position on issues, and that is a rare quality that makes him stand out,” Wike noted.
The minister concluded his message with prayers for Fayose, saying, “It is my sincere prayer that God will continue to bless our own Osokomole with fruitful years, abundant blessings, and robust health.”
Fayose, who served as governor of Ekiti State in two non-consecutive terms, remains a prominent and often outspoken figure in Nigerian politics. Known for his grassroots connection and bold personality, he continues to attract admiration and respect from allies like Wike, even after leaving office.
